Does my pooch need a dog license? Yes. Call (415) 883-4621 to reach the Marin Humane Society. For more information on the Marin Humane Society, visit the MHS website. The City participates in a regional Joint Powers Authority for the provision of Animal Control Services. The Marin Humane Society contracts with the County of Marin which serves as the responsbile agency under the JPA. Costs for services are collected by the MHS and remitted to the County. These revenues are used to offset the local agency costs. Each member agency then contributes the difference between the fees collected and the services provided under the contract.
