Belvedere Municipal Elections
The City of Belvedere contracts with the Marin County Clerk-Recorder-Assessor to conduct the City's general municipal elections. Important dates and deadlines regarding elections can be obtained from the Marin County Registrar of Voters' website. The five members of the Belvedere City Council are elected to four year terms. Elections occur in June of even-numbered years, and the terms are staggered so that no more than three City Council seats are up for election at any one time.

June 5, 2018, Election Information
A general municipal election will be held in the City of Belvedere on Tuesday, the 5th day of June, 2018, for the following officers:  Two City Councilmembers (Full term of four years)

The nomination period for these offices begins on February 12, 2018, and closes on March 9, 2018, at 5:00 p.m. If nomination papers for an incumbent officer of the city are not filed by March 9, 2018, the voters shall have until the 83rd day before the election, March 14, 2018, to nominate candidates other than the persons who are the incumbents.

If no one or only one person is nominated for an elective office, appointment to the elective office may be made as prescribed by § 10229, Elections Code of the State of California.

The polls will be open between the hours of 7:00 AM and 8:00 PM

Registering to Vote
You can obtain a hard-copy voter registration form at City Hall to register to vote or you can register to vote via the Marin County Registrar of Voters.

Statements of Economic Interests
The elected officials identified in Section 87200 CGC who file statements of economic interests with the Belvedere City Clerk are the five members of the City Council, seven members of the Planning Commission, City Manager, City Attorney, and Finance Director.  Copies of these statements of economic interests may be obtained by visiting the office of the Fair Political Practices Commission (428 J St., Ste, 620, Sacramento, CA 95814) or the office of the City Clerk (450 San Rafael Ave., Belvedere, CA 94920).  Statements of economic interests for some state and local government agency elected officers may be available in an electronic format on the Commission's Internet Web site.
