The Public Works Superintendent and 3 maintenance workers manage and maintain the City’s network of roadways and Public Right-of-ways, buildings, parks, storm drain inlets and numerous other public facilities.

Public Works staff duties include; sweeping 13 miles of streets monthly to comply with State and Federal stormwater requirements, clean and maintain 250+ storm drain inlets and basins throughout the year, maintenance of the public right-of way, perform pedestrian walkway (lanes) maintenance, replace traffic signs and markings, weed & trim landscaped areas, vehicle & equipment maintenance and after hours emergency call-out response during inclement weather.

In cooperation with the residents and the community of Belvedere, the Public Works Department strives to develop, maintain and improve the City’s public infrastructure at a safe, efficient and dependable level of service.

It is the Department’s goal to provide the citizens of Belvedere with the highest standard of public facilities consistent with sound engineering practices and fiscal responsibility.

The City Engineer is responsible for the design and Construction Management of various public improvement projects such as the Utility Underground projects and other small capital imrovements.

Private consultants and service providers supplement the efforts of City staff consistent with specific needs under the direction and review of the Public Works Department.
