Belvedere-Tiburon Library Expansion Project: 1501 and 1505
Del Mar Gymnasium, 105 Avenida Miraflores, Tiburon
Wednesday, October 5 @ 6:30 pm
The Town of Tiburon has issued a notice that the Town will hold a public hearing to consider applications made by the Belvedere-Tiburon Library Agency for general plan amendment, rezoning, amendments to the Point Tiburon Master Plan and Precise Plan for purposes of expanding the existing library facility. The amendments would re-designate properties from open space and neighborhood commercial to public use in the general plan, would rezone properties from open space and neighborhood commercial to public use on the zoning map, and would re-designate lands from open space to public use on the Point Tiburon Master Plan and Precise Plan maps. The Tiburon Planning Commission has recommended conditional approval of the applications, including the proposed rezonings, to the Tiburon Town Council.
Questions on the project should be sent to Scott Anderson, Director of Community Development, Town of Tiburon, 1505 Tiburon Boulevard or emailed to sanderson@ci.tiburon.ca.us.

A Night in Venice
Beach Road, Belvedere
Saturday, October 8, 2011 - 6:30 pm
This year's annual Landmarks event reaches back into
the history of
Belvedere and Tiburon to return Venice to the Beach Road
Canal! This
magical celebration of song and lights first appeared in
Belvedere in
1894 - that's right - 1894! The breathtaking event spread
across
several days and involved nearly everyone in the community.
Set to return in October 2011 for one night only, Landmarks
invites you to return to its original Beach Road location
and visit Venice along Beach Road with music, food (seated
dinner), dancing, Royal Procession on the Beach Road Canal,
celebration,
lights, strolls along the canal, and yes, even gondola
rides! Don't Miss Out!
For more details, visit the Landmarks website or call the Landmarks Offices at (415) 435-1853
Special Details Regarding Event Coordination
The Nights in Venice event will take place along the
southern side of Beach Road. A special road closure and traffic
diversion plan has been approved for the event (similar to what was
approved for prior events along this section of Beach Road). This
southern side of Beach Road will be closed to vehicle traffic from
Thursday night through Monday morning coinciding with the tent
installation and removal. The Road Closure will occur between Belvedere
Land Company Park and Cove Road. Tents will be installed all along the
traveled way. Parking will be prohibited on both sides of Beach Road
during the closure to allow two-way traffic to be diverted to the north
side of Beach Road. The north side will be flagged and coned for
two-way traffic Friday through and including Monday morning until the
tent(s) are removed. A working draft site plan is shown below:

Upcoming Doyle Drive Closure
Weekend Closure of Doyle Drive will impact Golden Gate Bridge Traffic
As part of the construction phasing for the Presidio Parking Project, Caltrans will close Doyle Drive for a weekend this fall, which will result in severe impacts to traffic traveling across the Golden Gate Bridge. As a result, Golden Gate Transit will offer modified bus schedules during the closure to best meet the needs of the communities. However, major delays are anticipated. The weekend closure is expected to occur in fall 2011. Caltrans has not yet announced the dates or times of the closure.
The weekend closure will allow traffic to shift onto the newly completed southbound structures and temporary bypass. During the closure there will be no access to Highway 101 from Marina Boulevard/Richardson Avenue and the public is encouraged to choose buses, ferries, alternate routes, or car-free activity.
For more details about the Doyle Drive Project, visit www.presidioparkway.org.
