Emergency preparedness for the community is an important goal of the City Council. Last month you were asked to register for AlertMarin to receive emergency notifications.
This month you are encouraged to Make a Plan with your family in case you are not together when disaster strikes.
- Agree on a place to meet if you must evacuate.
- Make an emergency contact list — include your closest friends or family. Identify an out-of-area contact. Instruct everyone in your circle to call this one person.
- Devise plans for the safety of those for whom you’re responsible. Identify who will care for your children, disabled family member and/or pets.
- Share your completed plan with those people close to you. Also, put a copy in your “Go Bag,” your children’s backpacks, and in your car.
