Storms can cause extensive damage to our homes and the surrounding community. Strategies for keeping your home safe during the winter include cleaning gutters and storm drains regularly, and trimming branches at risk of falling. For more, visit the city’s Storm Preparation page.
Flooding in Belvedere may occur when heavy rainfall is combined with a high tide. Storm runoff or erosion also can cause flooding to hillside homes.
You may be able to keep water out of your home by strategic placement of sandbags. Free sandbags – available to Belvedere residents only – are stored at three locations: Community Road across from the Community Center, on Lagoon Road across from #50, and on West Shore Road across from #71. Please note: these stations are only unlocked when severe storms are predicted.
