We live in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Lets remember, Municipal Code (MC) 8.08.240 states that household trash containers must be maintained in a location that is not visible from the public street. On trash pick-up days, garbage cans, recycle containers and green compost bins may be placed on the street. However, they must be removed within 24 hours of collection. These statutes are enforceable and may result in a fine being assessed.
What about leaving trash on our streets, or in our parks and open spaces? This is also against health and safety codes. All trash, including your dog’s feces, should always be placed in an appropriate container. If one is full or unavailable to you, you must take the garbage with you and dispose of it properly. Please do your part to keep our community healthy and safe.
